Adam Ahmad Abdullah is a Director at EconWorks, with over 15 years of experience in investment research, competition economics, and public policy. He has advised on high-impact policy and regulatory projects across sectors such as aviation, transport, healthcare, and oil and gas.
Adam played a leading role in shaping competition policy for Malaysia’s aviation services market. As the lead economist for the market study, he evaluated market structure, industry conduct, and performance—work that formed the foundation for regulatory policies adopted by the sector’s economic regulator. His expertise in investment research is grounded in years of experience appraising large-scale investments across transportation, logistics, and consumer-driven industries.
Prior to joining EconWorks, Adam served as Head of Public Policy Research at Malaysia’s largest provident fund, where he developed policy frameworks on social protection, labour markets, and fiscal sustainability.
Adam’s professional background includes roles at the Employees Provident Fund, the Malaysian Aviation Commission, and Permodalan Nasional Berhad. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Business Management from Imperial College London, UK.
